Office ergonomics
04/04/2009 at 11:57 am | Posted in wellness | Leave a commentQuite educational for me. I had carpal tunnel before and went for an operation. Did crossed my mind to sit on a physio ball but I find the ball take up too much space and is not as mobile as a chair with roller legs. Instead I take the chair part out of the the roller legs. In its place, I put a phone book A phone book is bendable because it is made of paper. Lets see if I can think of anything better.
What I have to keep in mind is not to
- slouch on the chair especially when you have a back rest
- rest my wrist on the table.
- press the mouse button too much. You could use mousekeys instead.
- rest my weight on my calf (near the knee area)
- not to sit for long period of time.
Remember not to stress the neck, wrist, backbone and calf.
